WHO PLANS THE BACHELOR OR BACHELORETTE PARTY?
We get asked all the time: Who plans the bachelor/ette party?! At Bach to Basic, we've worked with all sorts of party planners, from the super-organized Maid of Honor to the chill Best Man to the sister and mother of the bride. Here’s a little insider info on who usually handles what in these epic pre-wedding parties and how to make them as seamless and easy to plan as possible.
WHO’S IN CHARGE?
Typically, and historically, it's the Maid of Honor and the Best Man who are the lead planners for the bachelorette and bachelor parties. While this is very much still often the case, we have seen a lot of other friends, siblings and even mothers of the bride pitching in to plan these much more extravagant weekend festivities. It’s a big job to plan an event that’s totally reflective of the bride and/or groom, while also taking into consideration the guests attending. Every detail, all the way from the guest list to the decor and party theme, is important and has many tasks associated with helping the event come to fruition.
WHY HIRE A PRO?
Lately, lots of groups are turning to professional bachelor and bachelorette planners (yup, like us!). With everyone being so busy, using a bachelor/ette party planning service can take a lot of stress off your plate. Most of our clients are busy working adults, mothers or fathers, and/or people planning for groups located all over the US (or world!) that need some assistance in wrangling the group together. We can handle splitting payments, booking with vendors, being onsite for your event, creating mood boards, decoration setup, transportation and so much more.
If you are taking on the task of planning the bachelor/ette on your own, these are our tips to plan like a pro:
Know Who You’re Celebrating: Really get what the bride or groom is all about—do they want a chill retreat or a wild city adventure?
Talk It Out: Keep everyone in the loop. Make sure all the plans, budget, and details are clear to the whole party crew.
Delegate: Split up the tasks so no one’s overwhelmed. Play to each person’s strengths and what they’re available to handle.
Have a Plan B: Always good to have a backup just in case—weather woes, last-minute changes, you name it, we’ve seen it.
Focus on Fun: Remember, it’s all about celebrating friendship and love. Create the moments that’ll make everyone relive the weekend for years to come.
Whether you're the go-to planner in your friend group or thinking about hiring someone like us at Bach to Basic, the end goal is the same: throwing an awesome party that feels just right for the groom and bride to be. We’re all about creating parties that celebrate the unique style and story of the honoree, making sure their big bash is as one-of-a-kind as they are. Let’s get to planning!
